PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS
The recipe to tell a good story
Are you interested in having your storyboarding knowledge being turned upside down?
We’re going to study storyboarding, boosting your thinking process with outside the box exercises in a real working environment, our office, where you’ll find a professional workspace to piece it all together, all yours for 2 days!
This is why we’re doing this: talking with students and junior storyboarders we’ve noticed they don’t feel 100% ready for real world productions but what they don’t know is that they are almost there, and the little missing piece is .. the way they think (or don’t think enough), while storyboarding!
Technical aspects can be mastered over time with practice and dedication, and this is already a steep staircase in one’s career. But solely technique is not enough to become professional storytellers. It’s the way we process scripts, the way we approach problem solving, rewriting, collaborating with a team, getting reviews without taking it personally, proposing ideas, being a nice person to work with, trusting your supervisor and interpreting a story so it’s real, meaningful, powerful, THIS, in our opinion, is the most difficult task of all.
How do you piece it all together and become the best story artist, and maybe person, you can? How can you avoid losing track of the way ahead of you and stop prematurely, thinking you’ve reached your peak, without even noticing it’s way too early? Schools rarely teach you this, and we’ve been thinking about these aspects a lot, so we’d like to try, if someone is willing to listen, to help reshape our vision and elevate the quality of what we collectively do in storyboarding
We’re putting together 6 weekends workshops, one every two months till the end of the year, with the aim of helping out those of you who have already learned the basics of storyboarding but did not have the opportunity yet to test their skills in a real working environment, to do so, with our supervision.
Each module will last 2 days with a brief theory introduction and then straight to practice for 6 hours on Saturday (full day) and 3 hours on Sunday morning to wrap it up + 2 hours Sunday afternoon for exports and final thoughts.
Our workstations are provided with Wacom cintiq 22 or Huion 22, high performance pc and toon boom storyboard 22 licences.
